Town of Kansas Bridge Enhancement - Notice of Invitation to Bid

Attn:  Bidding is now closed - Bids will be opened at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 11, 2010.

The Port Authority of Kansas City, Missouri, invites all qualified parties to submit bids for the:

· Town of Kansas Bridge Enhancement: this work shall comprise of the demolition of the existing plaza and construction of a new trailhead/plaza and rain garden adjacent to the existing Town of Kansas Pedestrian Bridge. The work contains various project components including rain garden plantings, concrete flatwork for the plaza, and walls to contain the rain garden and soils. There is also work along the slope to install rip rap check dams/rock blankets and a stilling basin at the base of the hill, beneath the bridge.

Certified Disadvantaged Business Entities (DBE’s) are encouraged to apply. “All Prime Contractors must be on MoDOT’s Approved Contractor Listing and the DBE Sub-Contractors must be on the MoDOT/Kansas City Approved DBE List prior to Bidding”.

Bids will be opened after that time and read aloud at the office of the Port Authority at 1100 Walnut, Suite 1700, Kansas City, Missouri 64106. Bidders may pick up one set of Bidding Documents at the Western Blue reprographics company located at 1814 Main St., Kansas City, MO 64108 (816) 300-6600, at a cost of $50.00. Fees for Bidding Documents will not be refunded. A Pre-Bid meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. at 136 Main Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64105.

Sealed bids submissions will be due by 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010. Submissions received after 2:00 p.m. on that date will not be considered. The Port Authority reserves the right to accept or reject any or all submissions.
